Xiaomi 12 Launch Date Leaked

In the recent reports from China, Xiaomi has scheduled at least one Xiaomi 12 launch event for December 16. It seems like the company will unveil two devices next month. What we know for sure is that the event will kick off by presenting the vanilla Xiaomi 12. 12X will follow after that.

The event is tipped to start at 19:30 CST. It is scheduled to last for four hours. So let’s be honest here, this is a way too long launch event for a single device. That is why the rumor mill is getting louder about potentially launching at least two smartphones.

Xiaomi 12, 12X Specs

Although we know very little about the specs, it seems like Xiaomi 12 is supposed to be affordable, compact flagship with Snapdragon 870 SoC chipset and 6.28-inch OLED (1,080×2,400 pixels) display. An updated 50 MP main camera and 20 MP selfie camera at the front, is rumored to be part of this device. Xiaomi 12 will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery according to the report by MyDrivers.

Xiaomi 12 will be offered with a 100W fast charging and Xiaomi 12X will support wired 67W charging and 33W wireless charging.

According to some leaks the Xiaomi 12 and 12X will feature symmetrical stereo speaker grilles. Most likely placed on the top and bottom of each phone. Xiaomi 12 is expected to have a FHD+ AMOLED display of 120Hz refresh, a larger optical fingerprint scanner and 100W charging.

Xiaomi 12 lineup features curved display (according to a Weibo post) which some may argue that they give you less screen estate. But they both look promising. It seems like for years Xiaomi is releasing big and heavy phones. So this launch may change that. A compact size smartphone may be just what the users want.

The 12X Pro model may just feature the upcoming flagship chipset. The Snapdragon 898. The source doesn’t really provide any more details on this device, other that it will sport a 6.3-inch display. A 120Hz curved panel made by Huaxing. There is a possibility where both phones will feature the same display.

The Xiaomi 12X Pro, or whatever it ends up being named, could feature a more impressive camera setup as well. But, let’s wait and see what the official specs will tell us.

This report coming in from China doesn’t say anything about when these phones will be released to the public. But December is not that far away, so we will know very soon.
