Xiaomi announced today that the MIUI based Android Q tests of the Mi 9 in Weibo, the Chinese social media, will begin.
Mi 9 will be the first device to receive MIUI-based Android Q. The stable version will be released in the fourth quarter of 2019. But Android Q is not limited to Mi 9. Redmi K20 Pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 UD, Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 3 and Mi 9 SE will also receive Android Q update in the fourth quarter of this year.
Android Q offers better privacy features, support for foldable devices, a system-wide dark mode and more. It is unclear what features will be available for MIUI. The closed Android Q beta for Mi 9 is only available for Chinese.
