It brings static images to life, by using their state of the art photo animator. Combine that with an intuitive and easy to use interface, and you got yourself a hit app.

Choosing an Image

Like with any other image editing app, you start by choosing an image. But, there is also an option to open your camera and snap a new photo. I leave that decision up to you. Sometimes, it is fun creating moving images on the go. For the sake of the tutorial, I will be choosing a photo from my gallery.

It’s an image I have previously downloaded on my phone.

This is an awesome picture. We are going to be using it to demonstrate how to make moving image using your phone.

Play Android games on Windows

Create a Moving Image on Your Phone

When you launch Pixaloop it looks something like this

You can animate your image two ways. Either use your phone camera and snap a new one, or import an existing image. I will import mine.

The first screen allows you to crop the image, before you apply the animation effect. Depending on where you want to publish your work, its a good idea to crop it beforehand. For me personally, this works quite nice. I won’t be doing any cropping. Will go straight to making a moving picture.

Moving Image Tutorial

What I envision for this image is a falling waterfall, while the subject stood still. I think by adding a motion to the background, this image will get a whole new dimension.

Masking the subject

First of all, you need to tell the application what is a static object. In my image, there is a girl right in front of the waterfall. So, I don’t want the moving animation to affect her. On the bottom of the screen there is a MASK button. It allows you to set the size of the brush and paint over the area you want static. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but make sure the mask contains your static subject.

Masking the background

I continued my masking process to the background as well. Well at least part of it. I also do not want the ground to move. It doesn’t look good on the moving image. It’s just not natural. You do this process by trial and error. Do your changes, then press the Play button. If you are happy with the result, then move on to the next stage. If not, go back and fix everything you do not like.

Animating the Waterfall

For this image, I chose to use Motion Animation. You can activate it by clicking the Motion button on the bottom of the screen. When this setting is active, you can tell the application the path of the animation. As you can see I have created six paths, all pointing in a downward direction. I am mimicking the path that a waterfall would naturally take. If you want, you can make the waterfall move up as well.

When making a moving image using this tool, the final result would animate everything in a downward motion. And I mean everything. After playing my clip I noticed that the top and bottom are also dragged down. To solve this issue I used Anchor Points.

You can see seven anchor points right above my ground mask and five anchor points on top of the image. This prevents weird ground and top movements on the image. After a couple of tries, moving and adding anchor points I was satisfied with the result.

Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to unsend an email? Maybe you forgot to attach that spreadsheet your boss wanted from you, a misspelled word or simply, you sent the email to the wrong person?

Here’s some good news. GMail allows users to unsend an email. But there is a caveat to that feature. You actually have to set it up first. See, GMail doesn’t send the email right away. It gives the user an option to cancel the operation.

By default you can undo the send operation from GMail within the first five seconds. So, you’ll just have to be quick about it. But, you can also change this setting. So let’s see how to set it up.

Set up the Undo Send Setting

1. First, you need to navigate to your Settings icon

2. Then click on See all settings button. You will be navigated towards the Settings window.

3. Here you can set the Send cancellation period in seconds. By default you have five seconds to cancel the send email operation.

How to Unsend an Email from GMain

Now let’s see how we can use this feature.

1. Click on the Compose button and start writing your email.
2. Click Send.

Now the timer kicks in. My setting is 10 seconds so I have 10 seconds to decide whether or not I want to unsend the email. The important thing to notice here is the following window:

If you want to Unsend an Email you have to click on the Undo button. Once you click on it, the application will navigate you back to the message. GMail will allow you to correct whatever you need to, and then will give you another chance to send the email.

Please note that after this window is gone, there is nothing you can do about it. The email is sent. So my best advice to you, is to set the Undo Send option to 10-15 seconds.

Browsers are one of the most constantly updated software due to the nature of their work. Web standards undergo revisions continually, bringing up the need for constant changes to keep up with them. Aside from this, updates are also rolled out to patch security holes and fix bugs.

While updates like these are mostly the behind-the-scenes kind and you may not even see the process take place at all, some do result in issues for a few. Various factors such as broken compatibility, system issues, and cache troubles can result in performance problems. 1. Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller

This neat little extension is a port of another from Firefox and makes scroll behavior extremely smooth. It seems to do its job by freeing scrolling from the scroll-wheel a bit and slightly altering its behavior. A bounce effect has also been added for overscrolling scenarios, making scrolling appear almost as slick as on a mobile device.

But if you do not like its default behavior, then Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller also offers a dynamically plotted curve using which you can customize it to your heart’s content.

2. Logitech Smooth Scrolling

This extension is developed by none other than Logitech and works similarly to the one above, except for one thing – it is for Logitech mice and touchpads only. Web pages typically scroll in choppy three-line increments. With Smooth Scrolling, web pages will glide across your screen in single-pixel increments, again making scrolling as smooth as it is on a smartphone.

To install the extension, head over to its Chrome Web Store page. But before that, make sure you have Logitech SetPoint software 6.60 and above installed as well. Do note that the extension is incompatible with gaming mice.

3. SmoothScroll

Another great alternative to Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller is SmoothScroll, which again works in a very similar manner. It promises “iOS-like smooth scrolling” and supports all input devices, whether it’s the mouse wheel, middle mouse, touchpad, or keyboard.

Fix scroll lag issue on Firefox:

Firefox doesn’t use the Chromium base and is actually one of the last remaining browsers to do so. It is instead based on the Quantum browser engine, automatically making the extensions given above incompatible. Fortunately, Firefox has got a couple of its own and we have listed them below.

YASS is what the Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller extension discussed above is based on. It, therefore, works in an identical manner and supports both arrow keys and mouse scroll-wheel.

Instagram

Instagram is one of the most popular apps where people share their photos, videos and their Instagram stories. There are situations where we do come across something very interesting on Instagram and we want to save it offline, for viewing at a later time.

Officially Instagram doesn’t allow downloading images, videos or stories from another accounts. But the good news is that there are ways to do that.

Why Instagram makes it hard to download images?

Like any other social platform, Instagram wants you to come back. So, if you want to view the image again, you should do that via their app or web page.

You will also notice that Instagram doesn’t allow Right Click and then Save As option on their web page. That is because they override the browser functionality to prevent these types of actions. And the mobile application simply doesn’t provide a download button. Social media platforms like Instagram makes it inconvenient for you to download Instagram image.

Inconvenient does not mean impossible. It can be done by using any browser out there. It takes a bit of work and practice, but eventually you will learn how to download Instagram image onto your computer.

There is no need for making screen shots, or using third-party software. They can be useful if you are downloading images in bulk. But if you are trying to download a specific image, this is the fastest way to do it.

The best thing about this process is that you don’t have to install any additional software for downloading Instagram image.

How to download Instagram image from your browser

For the purpose of this tutorial, I will use Peter McKinnon Instagram profile.

Peter McKinnon

Peter McKinnon is a Canadian YouTuber, photographer, filmmaker and vlogger. He is most known for his filmmaking and photography tutorials mainly using Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Lightroom.

Prerequisites

Before we start with the tutorial, make sure to have an active Instagram account and some kind of a Web Browser installed.

The main intention of Instagram is to share and find the best photos and videos. To do that you need Instagram account. User profiles have followers and a following count. If the target profile is private, then you must be approved by the Instagram user to see their profile content. Unless that profile is a public one. Every user profile has a button you can tap to follow them. So, if you like their content make sure to hit the follow button.

The content consists of images and videos. To download Instagram image to your computer you must verify that you have access to the profile and permission open and view that image.

Download Instagram Image using Chrome

1. Open your Google Chrome browser and navigate to the image you have targeted to download
2. Hover over the image and click on it. This action will open it up in a preview mode.
3. Position your mouse cursor over the image and perform Right Click on the photo. A new menu will pop up at the location of your click. From the menu select the “Inspect” option.
4. Google Chrome will launch its Developer Tools and open the Elements tab by default. To find the element that hosts the image presented on the screen, you must expand the tag that is right above the selected div To expand the targeted HTML element, you must click on the gray arrow hosted above the selection. The node in question is highlighted by the red arrow.
5. Once the element is expanded you can position the mouse over the image URL. Google Chrome will display a small thumbnail of the image you want to download.
6. Now Right Click on the image URL and select “Open in new tab” option from the pop-up menu.
7. Google Chrome will open a new tab with the image displayed. Now hover over the image at any place and Right Click on it. From the menu you can click on “Save image as…” to download the photo on your computer.

This is how you download Instagram image using the Google Chrome web browser.

Download Instagram Image using Microsoft Edge

1. Open your Edge Web Browser and navigate to the image you wish to download
2. Hover over the image you like and click on it. Edge will open the image in a modal window like so:
3. Next place your cursor over the image and Right Click on it. This action will cause a new menu to pop up. From the menu options select “Inspect” menu item.
4. The Edge Browser will open up a new window on the right side of the page. This window hosts the Development Tools and by default it opens the Elements tab. By default Microsoft Edge will select the element we want to inspect. But in order to download the image we must expand the div element above the selected one. You can do that by clicking on the gray arrow right above the selected HTML element to expand it. That particular tag is highlighted by the red arrow on the image bellow
5. Once the tag is expanded the image URL will be visible. You can position your mouse cursor over the image URL. Microsoft Edge will display a small thumbnail sized preview.
6. Next Right Click over the image URL, and from the new menu that will pop-up choose “Open image in new tab” option.
7. Microsoft Edge will open the image in a new tab. Now hover over the image at any place and Right Click on it. From the menu you can click on “Save image as…” to download the image.

This is how you download Instagram image using Microsoft Edge web browser.

Download Instagram Image using Mozzila Firefox

1. Open your Mozzila Firefox Web Browser and navigate to the image you want to download
2. Open the image like so
3. Hover and set your mouse cursor over the image and Right Click on it. A new menu will pop up. Click on the “Inspect” menu item
4. On the bottom of the web browser a window will pop up with the div web page element selected. What you want to do here is to select the element above the selected one and expand it by clicking on the arrow icon.
5. Once you expand the node the URL of the image will be visible. If you hover your mouse over it, Firefox will generate a preview of the photo
6. Now Right Click over the URL and from the menu select “Open Link in New Tab” option.
7. This in turn will open the image in a new web browser tab. From there you can simply Right Click over the image and select “Save Image As” to download the photo on your local computer.

This is how you download Instagram image using the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Download Instagram Image using Opera

1. Open Opera Web Browser and navigate to the image you would like to download
2. What you want to do next is open the image in preview mode
3. Place your mouse over the image and Right Click on it. As a result of that action, you will see a new menu popping up on the screen. From there select the “Inspect Element” option
4. A new window will show on the right side of your screen. By default, a div element will be selected. But in order to get the image URL, you will need to expand the element above of the currently selected one. You can do that by clicking on the gray arrow that is right above the div
5. Once the element is expanded you can position the mouse over the image URL. Opera will display a small thumbnail of the image you want to download.
6. Now Right Click on the image URL and select “Open in new tab” option from the pop-up menu.
7. Opera will open a new tab with the image displayed. Now hover over the image at any place and Right Click on it. From the menu you can click on “Save image as…” to download the photo on your PC.

This is how you download Instagram image using the Opera web browser.

Download Instagram Image from mobile

The mobile application also doesn’t allow image downloads. But it does allow you to copy the link. So, in order to download Instagram image from the mobile application, the procedure is pretty much the same.

If you are on your phone and using the official Instagram application.

1. Navigate to the profile that hosts the image you are interested in.
2. Next you need to open the image
3. You should see the three vertical dots on the upper right corner of the image. Tap those dots and a menu will pop up. On the menu you should select the “Copy Link” option

Once you have copied the image link, you can paste it into your web browser, and simply repeat the procedure we have already covered.

Build your Instagram Image Downloader application

Most of the apps out there use this or a very similar procedure to this one to download Instagram image. They would simply inspect the DOM (Document Object Model) of the page. Locate the image URL and then download it locally.

If you’ve been in the Android world for the past few years, you’ve probably heard the term “Magisk”. Magisk is a tool that allows you to use root access. It is also a new root authorization system. It was developed in 2016 by XDA developer topjohnwu. Magisk is an alternative to the long-standing SuperSU, but it’s much more than just a root method.

Magisk is known as the “no change system” root method. It is actually a way to change the system without actually changing it. Changes are safely stored in the boot partition rather than replacing the actual system files. This is the most important feature of this tool. The changes may not be detected by Google SafetyNet, as the original system files remain unchanged.

Googley SafetyNet is the reason many people use this tool over other methods. SafetyNet detects system tampering and prevents certain applications from working properly. Google Pay, Netflix, and Pokemon GO are a few examples. SafetyNet is an important safety measure, but it can be overly aggressive. Magisk allows users to have root and other changes while continuing to use these popular apps. Methods like SuperSU change system files that trigger SafetyNet to block apps.

Some Features of Magisk

Magisk opens your device to a world of change. Root access is just one of many modules you can install. The “module” is an installable modification that allows easy customization. If you’ve heard of Xposed, the module is also a similar concept to Xposed. These modules include ad blockers, emoji replacements, CameraAPI2 enabler and much more. They are useful mods that can increase the functionality of your Android device. You can find many useful modules in Forum XDA and Magisk Manager app.

Another factor in Magisk’s growth is that it is constantly updated and can outperform new Android versions and SafetyNet systems.

How to Install Magisk?

Now let’s get to the most asked part. How to install Magisk or root the device? First of all, we need certain things to install Magisk on our device.

Requirements

• TWRP or a similar custom recovery must be installed on our device.
• Magisk: Github
• Magisk Manager: If you don’t have Magisk Manager app installed on your phone when you turn it on, you may need to install it additionally. You can also download them from this link. Github.

Steps

1. We copy the downloaded Magisk file to our device’s memory.
2. We turn off our phone, hold down the volume up and power keys. When the Logo comes up, we take our hand off the power button, when the TWRP logo comes up, we pull the volume up button and TWRP is turned on.
3. Click on the Magisk-v20.4.zip file that we downloaded in the Install section and slide the bar below. When the process is completed, we restart our phone by pressing the “Reboot system” button.

How to Uninstall Magisk?

Steps

1. We copy the downloaded Magisk Uninstaller file to the memory of our device.
2. We turn off our phone, hold down the volume up and power keys. When the logo comes up, we take our hand off the power button, when the TWRP logo comes up, we pull the volume up button and TWRP is turned on.
3. Click the Magisk-uninstaller.zip file that we downloaded in the Install section and slide the bar below. When the process is completed, we restart our phone by pressing the “Reboot system” button.

Camera2 API comes enabled on all phones released with Android 9 and above. When an Android device supports Camera2 API, the application can access the features that can use the camera more effectively and take full advantage of the camera sensor.

Is Camera2 API enabled on my phone?

You can activate the Camera2 API by editing the build.prop file using a special file manager with Root permission. Follow the guide below.

Requirements

• Bootloader is unlocked (If bootloader is locked, unlocking guide)
• Having root permission.
• A Rooted base file manager for editing build.prop (eg: Root Explorer or MiXplore) or Terminal Emulator.

File Manager Method

If you meet all the requirements, what you need to do is very simple. Open the build.prop file located in /system (the main directory entered with the root permission) with the recommended file manager and add the following code to the end, save it and restart your phone.

Terminal Emulator Method

Enabling the Camera2 API with Terminal Emulator is a much less complex alternative method. Open the Terminal Emulator app and paste the following code (The application will ask for Root permission. Allow it.):

With this app, you can check the result. If you get the result below, you have successfully enabled the Camera2 API.

Can I enable the Camera2 API without Root permission?

You cannot enable the Camera2 API without Root permission. If you have Custom Recovery, you can enable it by adding the necessary codes to build.prop.

What is Config / Xml?

Config is automatic import of well-made settings in Google camera. You don’t need to make the settings one by one, instead you just need to import the config.

How to Install Config / Xml?

First of all, the folders where the config will be found will vary depending on the version of the Google camera you are using. This information is probably listed where you downloaded the Google camera.

Commonly used folder structure:

• Google Camera 6.xxx: GCam/Configs folder
• Google Camera 7.xxx: GCam/Configs7 folder

In this article, I will use CX File Explorer as it looks simpler. You can use any file manager you want.

• First, we go to our file manager and create a folder named “GCam”.
• Then we open another folder called “Configs” into this folder and put our xml file into it.

We enter our Google camera application, double click the blacks at the bottom of the camera, select our config and click restore.

GCam is a very successful camera application developed by Google for its phones. The Google camera, whose first version was released on April 16, 2014, is currently only officially supported by Google Nexus and Google Pixel devices. In order to install this camera application developed by Google on other phones, some arrangements may be required by the developers.

Google Camera Features

The main features that distinguish Google camera from other camera applications can be listed as HDR +, motion, night mode, panorama, photosphere.

HDR+

HDR is the abbreviation for High Dynamic Range. It can simply be called enhancing contrast and colors. Speaking as a scene, it can be thought of as the reduction of the details lost when shooting two environments with more and less light in the same frame. This can be fully understood by looking at the photo below. As understood in HDR +, it is an improved version of HDR.

When the HDR feature is active, the phone usually takes 3 photos and processes them together to adjust the dynamic range, colors and contrast as seen in the photo. In Google Camera, this is achieved by taking 5-15 photos, not 3 photos. Thus, more accurate colors and more accurate contrast are obtained. The main thing is that although the number of photos taken increases, the speed of shooting and processing of the photo does not slow down too much.

HDR + Enhanced

It is the advanced version of HDR +. It is similar to HDR + but it takes darker, brighter and more pictures than HDR + and combines them.

Motion

This feature can be compared to iPhone’s Live Photos or HTC’s Zoe modes. When Motion is on, a short video is captured with the photo and embedded in the photo.

Panorama

Panorama shot option is also available on Google camera. There are 4 shooting options in Panorama mode. These are horizontal, vertical, wide angle and fisheye options.

Photosphere

Photosphere is actually a panorama mode taken in 360 degrees. However, it is offered to users as a separate option in Google camera.

Night Sight

Night Sight is a much more advanced HDR + Enhanced mode. When the user presses the button to take the photo, it takes photos up to 15 frames of 1/15 of a second or 6 frames of 1 second and saves these photos by correcting their colors with AWB (Auto White Balance), a Google technology. As a result, you get much brighter and clearer photos in low light. We can say that users generally prefer GCam for this mode.

Portrait

Unlike other devices and camera applications, the portrait mode of the Google camera does not need a secondary camera hardware. Thanks to its artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, the focused object and the background are separated from each other and the bokeh effect is applied to the background.

AR Stickers / Playground

Announced with Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, this feature allows you to use AR (augmented reality) elements in your photos and videos.
