Out of three phones, it’s only the Note 9 4G that sports a new design. The Note 9 Pro 5G and Note 9 5G are both reworked Mi 10T Lite, and it looks like the 4G version is about debut globally. Before the launch, there’s been a rumor that the phone will be coming to the global market. The current information has now confirmed the rumor while hinting at an imminent launch.

Redmi 9T

Xiaomi just released an update for a device they’re yet to announce. According to the version number, “MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJQINXM,” it shows that the supposed Redmi 9 Power is the same device as the Redmi Note 9 4G, which received its first MIUI 12.0.5.0 QJQCNXM not long ago. Both updates are for the same phone but for different regions, where “IN” in the former means Indian while “CN” in the latter represents Chinese.

Before now, the device already obtained FEC certification, where it appeared with a model number, M2010J1SG. According to the listing, the device will have an additional 2MP Macro sensor and will answer Redmi 9T. It means the global variant will probably have a different camera arrangement, but aside from that, other features of the phone are expected to remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, according to a new line of code, the device might arrive in India as Redmi 9 Power. The information is from the released Xiaomi stock ROM for the Chinese version of the phone. The supposed Redmi 9 power has a model number, M2010J1SI, and will debut with an additional hi259 2MP Macro sensor.

Unfortunately, there’s currently no news as to when these phones – Redmi 9T and Redmi 9 Power – will be making their debut. However, since the company has already released an update for the phones, it means the launch is imminent.

Xiaomi has pulled the MIUI 12 update yet again and now rolling a stable MIUI 11 update to the global Redmi Note 8 users https://www.techindeep.com/new-stable-miui-11-update-for-the-global-redmi-note-8-61893 https://www.techindeep.com/new-stable-miui-11-update-for-the-global-redmi-note-8-61893#comments Wed, 25 Nov 2020 10:32:22 +0000 https://www.techindeep.com/?p=61893 In less than 24 hours, Xiaomi has rolled out a new MIUI 12 update to the global Redmi Note 8 users, pulled it back, and is currently pushing a new stable MIUI 11 update. That’s surprising really, but Xiaomi, when it comes to updates, is full of surprises and won’t stop surprising us. However, it seems the new MIUI 12 update that started rolling out yesterday didn’t make it to a handful of phones, especially those on V11.0.11.0. It was because of that particular version that the first rollout was pulled, and it seems the recent update that arrived yesterday couldn’t fix the problem, resulting in a new stable MIUI 11 update for the global Redmi Note 8 users.

The new stable MIUI 11 update that’s currently hitting the global Redmi Note 8 users has a version number, V11.0.12.0 PCOMIXM, and it’s based on Android Pie. It’s basically an upgrade from the buggy v11.0.11.0, and hopefully, that will see everyone receive the MIUI 12 update, eventually. Meanwhile, as per the changelog of the new update, it has bumped the security patch level to November 2020, as well as improved system security and stability.

As to whether you should download the update, we can’t say for now. We are currently keeping a close eye on the development and will update this space once we get more information. Hopefully, Xiaomi will explain why it had to roll out a new stable MIUI 11 update for the global Redmi Note 8 users barely 24 hours after a new MIUI 12 update was released. Nevertheless, if you’re still on V11.0.11.0, it makes sense to download the update as you have nothing to lose.

Flagship processor Snapdragon 875’s release date announced https://www.techindeep.com/flagship-processor-snapdragon-875-61876 https://www.techindeep.com/flagship-processor-snapdragon-875-61876#comments Tue, 24 Nov 2020 12:15:52 +0000 https://www.techindeep.com/?p=61876 It’s that time of the year when we start expecting the launch of a new flagship processor from Qualcomm. The company usually debuts a new premium chip alongside a Snapdragon 700-series SoC during its annual summit, which holds towards the tail of every year. And going by an official report, Qualcomm will be having its annual summit on December 1, which is a couple of days from today. The two-day event, which will be held in Hawaii, will see the Snapdragon 875 debut alongside a Snapdragon 700-series SoC. The duo will support 5G connectivity, and according to reports, will debut with next-generation face recognition and AI technologies.

Flagship processor Snapdragon 875

The Snapdragon 875, Meanwhile, is built on a 5nm node and uses a 1+3+4 Octa-Core formation, where the individual core will make use of the recently released ARM Cortex-X1 architecture. It has a frequency speed of up to 3.0GHz, and that means about a 20% uplift in performance over the predessesor. The three A78 based cores will clock at 1.84GH while the four power-efficient A55 cores clock at 1.8GHz. We also expect an improved Adreno 660 GPU, and with a Qualcomm X60 modem, maximum download speed might exceed 7Gbps.

It has been alleged that some OEMs will be getting exclusive privileges with the flagship processor Snapdragon 875. Xiaomi is expected to release the first Snapdragon 875-powered phone in China, while Samsung will debut the Chipset globally.  Qualcomm is yet to make any comment on that nor the OEMs involved. They’ve, however, released a list of some smartphone makers’ CEOs that will deliver a speech on that day. On the list are Xiaomi Chief Executive Lei Jun, President of Sony Mobile, Mitsuya Kishida, and OnePlus CEO, Kyle Kiang.

Seeing Xiaomi CEO on the list could mean the company, among others, are soon going to debut a phone running the flagship processor Snapdragon 875 SoC. We hope to find out more during the December 1 event when they will deliver their speech. Of course, it’s going to be live-streamed, given the COVID-19 safety rules.
